Contrasting with Large Language Models

Current LLMs like ChatGPT operate as generalists, generating responses based on vast, heterogeneous datasets scraped from the internet. These models require enormous computational resources and complex prompt engineering or reasoning techniques to refine answers. In contrast, AMI Labs’ modular AI would ingest curated, domain-relevant data, making each system more specialized and potentially more reliable within its context.

For example, the critic module could be enhanced for applications handling sensitive data, or the perception module prioritized for AI that needs rapid real-world responsiveness. Each module is trained using methods tailored to its specific function, similar to machine learning systems that have mastered video or board games through self-teaching.
